For the last several years, shorts and I have not been good friends. I’ve got a difficult body shape to fit so I’m usually forced to shop in the Junior’s section. However my slightly larger than twig thin thighs make finding shorts {or pants for that matter } offered in the Junior’s section quite difficult.
A few weeks ago I stopped in New York and Company on a whim. {We’ll pretend the huge 50% OFF EVERYTHING sign had nothing to do with that *ahem*.}
I spotted the Flap Pocket Shorts and despite my past failures with finding any pants/shorts/skirts that fit my body in that store I pressed on. I had visions of my upcoming beach vacation dancing in my head and was desperate for proper beach vacation attire.
To my surprise and utter joy, the shorts were perfect. Not too short, not too long, they fit my thighs without exposing my, um, cheeks and they were just low enough in the rise to be amazingly flattering. I was ecstatic. My only complaint was the denim version flared out too much in the back thigh and the white pair didn’t have nude lining for the pockets, so I didn’t get those. But I did pick up the black and teal pair and I wish they offered them in tan and brown, because I would have snatched them up as well.
These regularly sell for $26.95 but during the sale I scored them for $13.47 each. I noticed they are on sale again for $18.86 on the website. A great price for a great fitting pair of shorts if you ask me.

Oh, I am having the worst time with shorts these days! I haven’t had much luck in New York & Co. in the past, but it’s probably worth another visit. I wear a lot of dresses/skirts in the summer, but some activities call for a pair of shorts. I really need at least one decent pair!
Cute! If I had legs like yours, I’d totally wear those shorts. 😉 I generally prefer to wear the knee -length ones, or rather, a knee-length skirt. But those are cute on you.
I have terrible spider veins (thanks Mama), so I don’t wear shorts any shorter than knee-length. In all honesty, I’m so pale, that I don’t really desire to wear shorts at all. As active as the kids are, though, I can’t really wear a lot of skirts without flashing the random passerby each time Bug takes a sprint for the road/fountain/nearest caged beast. So, I bought 2 pairs of shorts last year at Old Navy. The fit & length were great, but within an hour of wearing them, they are falling off of me. I may have to give New York & Co a try. I’ve noticed that their stuff tends to be cut a little fuller.
