A few weeks ago, a Twitter friend of mine at TheLooksforLess.com tweeted a link to a product called HemGems. When I clicked on the link and saw what it did, I was beyond excited. I contacted the company and they were kind enough to send me a pair of these temporary tailors to my doorstep to review for ya’ll.
Basically what these little gems do is temporarily alter the length of your jeans giving you freedom to wear heels or flats in a moments notice.
No more buying the same pair of jeans in two different lengths! You can transform your hem in just a few minute with these babies.
With four styles to choose from, all your bases are covered. I picked out the silver pyramid studs, shown above, and will likely be getting a pair of the gold ones very soon as well.
There are two ways to wear these, with either the hem tucked under or with the original hem showing.
I tried them both ways for ya’ll. With my trouser jeans, I just tucked the original hem under and tacked on the HemGems.
And with my bootcut jeans, I left the original hem showing.
Pretty neat, right? I absolutely love this product and recommend you check out their website. That comes in handy for those of us {aka me *ahem*} that need a visual how-to, not just written instructions.

Anyway to answer your question, I would probably stick to 4 per leg, but you could certainly try it with two. If its a lighter weight denim it might work.
That is brilliant! I could really use those. I’ve found that over time, my jeans shrink/get shorter. That’s why I’m always reluctant to get them tailored because while they may be perfect after the alteration, I’ve had some pairs get shorter a few months down the line.

I bought two different sets of these. They are difficult to handle and four will not hold up a pair of Levi cuffs. Believe me, I have experimented. Great idea but the execution needs some work.
