Product Review: CoverGirl lashblastfusion

BzzAgent recently contacted me to participate in a campaign featuring a brand new CoverGirl mascara: lashblastfusion. Never one to pass up the chance for free makeup, added to an unhealthy obsession with CoverGirl mascaras, equals OMG WHERE DO I SIGN?

Before I get started, let me just say: What is UP with every product these days having a lowercase, fused name with no spaces? it’sjustweird. But I will step off my grammar soapbox to tell you about this mascara now.

According to CoverGirl, this new mascara adds volume and length to lashes.

From the package: “Use lashblastfusion to get a blast of volume PLUS incredible length! It’s the perfect fusion of lashblast‘s super-volumizing brush and a buildable fiber-stretch lengthening formula that work together for dense, long-looking lashes!”

I mean, doesn’t every mascara claim the same thing? So naturally, I was skeptical – but this mascara was actually pretty good.

What I liked about it: I really did feel like my lashes looked great when wearing this mascara. I usually use CoverGirl’s lashexact (see, with the fused names?), and I love it, so every other mascara gets compared to it. I’m here to tell you, none of them have compared yet – until now.

What I didn’t like: I like the smaller tube and wand of lashexact when compared to lashblastfusion. The entire lashblast line (there are several different types, and I’ve tried them all) all feature the fatter tubes, and the clunkiness factor is what always leads me back to lashexact.

Overall: Would I buy it? I think I would. I’m willing to overlook the clunky tube for great lashes. I’m not sure there’s a huge difference in the results from lashblastfusion and lashexact, but I will definitely be purchasing one or the other the next time I need mascara.

CoverGirl products are sold at drugstores, grocery stores and mass merchandisers nation(er, make that WORLD)wide. Shopping tip: CoverGirl cosmetics go on sale at Target fairly frequently, plus there’s usually a $1 off coupon every month or so in the Sunday paper. So you can have great lashes for cheap – score!

Full disclosure: I am a BzzAgent and received a lashblastfusion sample and coupons in exchange for sharing my opinion about the product. The opinions expressed are my own. You have been warned.

  1. HM. I’m definitely trying this because I do currently use the fat orange tube. I have used the skinny purple one (I do not know names, lol) to which you refer, but my lashes are already long. I like the volume I get from the fat orange tube. But this promises to lengthen AND thicken? musttryrightaway. 😉
