You know I love the jeggings. I loved skinny jeans already for tucking into boots all winter, but jeggings are even better! They tuck into jeans even easier and they lack all the bulk around your tummy and bottom that jeans add. I have a couple pairs already!
Wear jeggings with a sweater coat, sweater wrap, blazer, tunic, button-down boyfriend shirt… really anything except a tight, fitted top looks terrific. For shoes, stick to flats or boots for everyday or dress them up with heels.
You might be thinking that you can’t pull jeggings off, but I’d really encourage you to give them a try. And the ones I recommend most are by Miraclebody:
These jeans not only are made of cotton and spandex fibers to help give your backside a boost while shaping and slimming your thighs, but it has a hidden tummy control panel reduces belly bumps and flattens the tummy to give you ultimate control while keeping you comfy.
They are amazingly comfortable – I am not the biggest fan of shapewear. Well, I love it, but I rarely find it comfortable to wear for very long. But the Miraclebody jean is very comfy and – this is the true Miracle in my opinion – somehow doesn’t create a muffin top on me! (If you wear shapewear, you know the displaced-fat problem I’m talking about!)
disclosure: i received a pair of miraclebody jeans for review purposes. as always, all opinions are mine.

So excited about your new blog! I love reading GirlyMama, but I must admit Fashion Fridays are my favorite posts of the week! I am curious about jeggings or even skinny jeans for curvy bodyshapes…. and also over 40? Thoughts?
Thanks, Emily!
Have you tried on Not Your Daughters jeans or Miraclebody? They have shaping/stretchiness built right in, so they are great for trying out the skinny jean/jegging look. I love the Miraclebody jegging (wearing them right now, actually!) because with the elastic waist and pockets, they add zero bulk under longer tops — which is one of my favorite ways to camouflage on those days youre feeling less than slim!
I NEVER wear jeggings without a tunic or long shirt. That is definitely a look for the younger crowd! But a great way to call attention to your curves is to wear a long menswear
inspired shirt over slim jeans – and add a belt to emphasize your waist.
Another option to try is the slim fit or straight fit, as opposed to a skinny jean. I love the slim jean from LOFT – its a great cut. Slim and close to the leg without being skin tight. You can still get the look of skinny jeans without going really skin tight.
Hope that helps!
p.s.
I know some of these are a bit pricey, but I personally saw Not Your Daughters at Filenes Basement on Tuesday for like $50. Lee also has a similar line that is really affordable!
