I did something recently that I never thought I’d do. EVER.
I…. bought leggings.
I only tried them on as a fluke because I liked the tunic sweater that was hanging next to them, and I knew the sweater wouldn’t look right with the pants I was wearing. (Sidebar: I didn’t get the sweater. What the bleep? I may go back for it, but I wanted to see what else was out there first.)
And since I’m up in here all confession-like, I’ll tell you this: I specifically bought them because I have a longer-ish road trip on the books for next month, and I didn’t want to wear jeans in the car that long. So, the hunt is now on for the right tunic to wear with them. HALP! Here’s what I’ve found so far:
– I like this one from Macy’s, too.
– I really like this one from Old Navy. If you happen to have it, is it long? I need it to cover my boo-tay, for sure.
– I’m kinda “meh” on this one from Old Navy. It definitely looks long enough, but kinda tight. I think I like the A-line style ones a little better. You?
So, anyhoo. That’s what I’ve been up to lately. I truly NEVER thought I would fall for the leggings trend. As a curvier girl, I didn’t think I could pull it off – but I think with the right tunic and right shoes/boots, it could be a good look for just about anyone! I’ll keep you posted on my findings, but in the meantime – PLEASE let me know any tunic recommendations! 🙂

i am a HUGE fan of a comfy, cotton dress with leggings. then you get the booty coverage, and enough length… but it might be something you already have in your closet… maybe this one???

Definitely check out TJ Maxx – they always have tons of random tunics and dresses that are perfect with leggings.
And I never know what style is right…. I just try and try and try different stuff until I find one that looks right!
Hey Becky! I work at Old Navy and just wanted to let you know that the 2nd tunic is not as long as it looks. Then again, I prefer to have extra longish tunics to cover my *ahem* backside so that could just be personal preference. The last tunic(the one that looks tight) is not in stores so I couldn’t give you any info on that one. Hope you find a great one!

I LOVE leggings with a dress/tunic and boots/flip flops/flats! I’m on the hunt right now for a dress or tunic to wear with leggings and brown boots… still looking, I’ll be checking back to the comments here for ideas.
Hannah, good to know! I definitely need the extra coverage. I still love it… So maybe it would be good with my straight leg jeans. Hm… Let the plotting begin. 🙂
And, how convenient… I can walk to TJ’s from work. I think he’s calling my name for a lunch date!
Oh, by the way to Ann – I actually do have a couple of cotton dresses that shrunk this summer… Maybe I stick a tee underneath and throw over leggings? Great idea!
Ooo, ladies, what say we about this one?

It feels like PJs! I bought it with a coupon to reserve my size, but I’m hopeful it will go on sale further (and they’ll still have another one in my size!) by the time I take my trip.
Sometimes I like leggings and sometimes not, usually I tend to like them on others and then think they look silly on me…but I’d love to successfully pull the look off. I actually like the second sweater dress from Macy’s that you posted. Tights and boots would look super cute with it for sure. I’m still on the fence about leggings, but that look would probably work, too.
