Growing up in hot, humid South Florida I developed an obsession for fall and winter coats. I dreamily perused LL Bean and J Crew catalogs, anxiously awaiting the day I would pack my bags and move somewhere – anywhere! – north of the Mason Dixon line.
After seven glorious years of four season weather, I’m now the proud owner of both long and short black wool coats, a beautiful red wool coat, and a gorgeous plum coat. (Guess which one I bought amidst the purple madness last fall?)
I love my four coats, but there’s one color I lack… camel. And as if purposely tempting me to forego my new budgeting resolve, camel coats are all over the runways this fall.

But of course it wouldn’t be ready to wear fall runway designer fashion without $3000+ pricetags. Sigh.
… Ann Taylor to the rescue!!
Also, who else is absolutely thrilled with Naomi Watts as the new Ann Taylor girl??
Ann Taylor’s gorgeous new plush wool double breasted camel coat retails for a mere $398. And for those of you who (like me!) are obsessed with the equally popular grey shades this fall… you can get this same coat in a stunning heather grey version.

I know, I know. $398 is still a lot to spend. I’m not even sure I’ll be making this purchase… at least not until it goes on sale!!
But for those of you not on my Dave Ramsey-style budget, a classic wool coat is a beautiful purchase that will keep you warm for a lifetime. The rest of us can just enjoy the eye candy.
Prada, Salvatore Ferragama, Alexander Wang, Chloé, and Ann Taylor did not sponsor this post. Alas.

I love coats! I got a gray pea coat last year. I can’t wait to break it out again. I’ve had red coats in the past, and that’s always a fun color to have. I got a white puffy parka last year with a gray fur-trimmed hood. SO CUTE!
I have a red pea coat that I had for years and it never goes out of style. I found an amzing camel coat of Ebay for $12.
