Welcome to the Cardi-Party!

Holy bleep, y’all. I recently made the Great Closet Exchange of 2010, where I went through the spring and summer stuff, purged what I didn’t wear, and added the fall and winter items I’d been collecting and/or already had. I’ve picked up some super-cute things along the way, but didn’t realize that – quite literally – every single new thing I’ve purchased is a cardigan. How did this happen? Because they’re cute, comfortable and versatile – THAT’S how. Here’s what I love the most:

This sweater is currently on clearance, and I urge you to get it while you can! I know I’ve been on a huge Old Navy kick lately, but there’s a reason for that. Their designs have been great the past few seasons, and you certainly can’t beat their prices. I bought the tan one as pictured (and LOVE it), but I’ve seen a charcoal gray one in stores that I love just as much. I also love this one from Old Navy:

This is another Old Navy steal. I’m not going to lie – I bought it last week when it was $16, and let me tell you that I would have paid double (but, uh, I’m glad I didn’t) (and now I’m wishing I would have bought more colors) (but, DUDE, I don’t need any more cardigans!!). I like that it’s longer, and the argyle is so cute. Plus, I love gray and yellow together, so the little pipe of yellow is just enough of a pop to make it interesting.

Since I clearly can’t get enough of Old Navy, I also found this on clearance (I think I paid $15 for it in-store? It was definitely cheaper than it’s displaying on the website). It’s a great option for a fall coat – I’d classify it more as outerwear than a sweater, but since it falls in the Becky Buys Cardigans category, I thought I’d share nonetheless:

I think I might seriously need Cardi Rehab, because as if the above weren’t enough to satisfy my cardigan crushes, I also bought two of these at Ann Taylor Loft:

AnnTaylorLoft.com - these are the full-price ones, but I love 'em nonetheless!

With this sweater, there are two versions. The full-price colors are your basics – tan, gray, black. But you can find the colorful ones – a purpley/blue, berry and olive – on clearance right now. ATL has 50% off clearance right now (!!) so they end up being $20. It looks like the clearance colors are out of stock online, but my store (well, it’s not MINE, per se. But the one I shop at, anyway…) still had plenty of sizes in all colors, so it’s definitely worth checking out.

By the way, a sidebar note… the argyle one from Old Navy also comes in solid colors and various prints, and it’s VERY similar in style to the Ann Taylor loft one. Old Navy has been coming out with sales and coupon codes so frequently lately that it’s definitely worth your while to consider it if you’re in the market for a longer, comfy cardigan. Just my two cents.

So, the first step is admitting that I have a cardigan problem. The second step is you telling me about YOUR favorite cardigan so I can go buy some more. Get going in the comments! 🙂

  1. I bought the LOFT cardigan in 4 colors – it’s amazing, holds it’s shape well, and is perfect for layering. Definitely worth the steeper price tag (although I bought it when it was $25 so not too bad…)

  2. Sarah, if and when the regular price colors go on sale, I imagine I’ll be picking up a couple more of the ATL cardis as well. Loving the gray and the brown!

  3. I’m all about the cardis too!!

  4. I have the high neck 5 button one from old navy in kelly green. I’ve gotten lots of compliments on it. Cardigans are so versitile and easy, I love that you called it the cardi-party, I’m stealing that next time I wear one. Right now Kohls has some great cardigan’s too, I came home with two last time I went.
