It’ll Blow Your Mind (or at least your hair)

My husband bought me a blow dryer for Christmas. I know you might be thinking I should be mad at him for such a practical and unromantic gift. Let me assure you, I am not. My quest for the perfect hair dryer has gone on so long that I was actually thrilled with his efforts.

Let me pause here and say if you are gifted with manageable hair, you will not appreciate this post. If you are like me, blessed with a wild mane, then you’ll get why hair dryers are so important.

My hair is massive. It’s long (I’ve tried short-too cowlicky so more work) and thick and retains water like a sea animal. It also wants to be curly but isn’t very pretty curly so I am forced to straighten it. It is a multi-stage process and it is not pretty as it happens.

As you can imagine it takes a while for the transformation from Rosanne Rosannadanna Roseanne_Roseannadanna

to be complete so in the summer it gets so hot that I am often forced to wear a wet braid instead.

I am not complaining. I spent many years cursing my locks but with the advent of “product” and tools, I have actually come to love my hair. But know that proper tools are essential to my mental well being.

This summer I discovered the perfect hair dryer at the Four Seasons Hotel in Palo Alto, California. It was the talk of the conference I was attending as each woman who used it was amazed at its power. It was small with a folding handle and retractable cord, not usually the benchmarks of a powerful hair dryer. And yet it handled my hair like a pro. It worked fast and left my locks shiny and smooth. I ALMOST could have walked out of my hotel room without a straightener. Almost.

I could have bought it on site, but my budget did not allow at that time. I have been talking about it ever since. The Husband, for once, took note and tracked it down through the very helpful staff at FSPA. He was actually about to have them send one but then he found it on Amazon for way cheaper than they quoted me this summer.

So, if you’ve got a mane and wish to be able to use your hair dryer in warm months without killing yourself via heat stroke, check out this little number.

You’ll thank me for it in July.

  1. Thanks for the recommendation. I’m going to order it! My hair is thick and shoulder length, and I’m tempted to wear it in a pony tail every day of the summer because it’s such a pain to dry.
