Spring Nail Colors: Yay or Nay?

You may have seen Jo-Lynne’s Fashion Friday post on Musings of a Housewife about spring nail colors. It’s only February, but we are dangerously close to open-toe shoe weather – and with that, the need for fresh pedicures on the regular. Jo-Lynne is clearly clairvoyant, because that very same day I received my latest Sephora mailer. On the back cover? News about the latest Sephora by OPI line…

Image from Sephora.com. Colorful, yes?

A Glee collection! How fun is that? One of the things I love most about OPI is how creative the polish color names are. With shades like “Hell to the No” (a gorgeous violet hue) and “Who Let The Dorks Out?” (a shimmery turquoise), it almost makes me want to fork over my money to try some.

Almost.

I personally prefer more traditional colors, even for pedicures. I could definitely see myself buying “Miss Bossy Pants” (fuschia) or even the “Hell to the No,” but I will for sure save the greens, grays and aquas for you. No offense, OPI. Everybody likes different things, right?

What are your thoughts? Do you like funky nail colors? If you do, do you wear them on your feet only, or do you brave a bold manicure?

  1. The wildest I get is a taupe-y gray color on my nails… otherwise I stick to pinks, reds, and corals. But I’m always looking for the next hot new color… definitely going to check them out next time I’m in Sephora.

  2. I love me a bold mani and pedi! Must go check these out! Thanks Becky!

I’m really into the dark colors (brownish, grayish, blackish, redish) but as spring approaches I see that I may need to lighten it up a bit. I am going for the pastel blue for my next mani-I promised my daughter, who insists that I should ALWAYS get blue, lol.

  4. Yes, I do like the aqua, green and blue colors for pedicures! You wouldn’t catch me wearing them on my fingers, but for toenails, just so fun! Even more fun is to put a layer of clear with sparkles on top of the bright color! I guess I just can’t resist sparkles and happy colors. 🙂

  5. I keep looking at the fun colors, I really do. I’m trying to imagine the aqua on my fingers… I’m not there yet, but I’m trying! I really am! 🙂

  6. I’m in LOVE with super-fun colors!!!! I’ve rocked turquise and purple, black, mocha, gray, pink, YELLOW {no, it DOES NOT look like fungus!} you really should give it a whirl, you may be surprised at how much you like it!
