Fashion Trend: Upcycled Clothing for Kids

Upcycled clothing for children has really grown in the past year.  Many companies and custom sewers on etsy are now making both ready to order and custom clothing for kids and even matching outfits for their dolls.

What I love about upcycling is that the clothing is made using old clothing that is cut apart to make a new garment – so you are recycling and being eco-friendly.  What is also super fun is you can send a designer your old t-shirts or skirts and have them design something completely custom and unique for you. How fun for your kids to be their own designer and to perhaps reuse an old piece of clothing with sentimental value that just isn’t wearable anymore.

Some of my favorite Upcycle Clothing Companies are

Have you purchased any upcycled clothing?  What do you think of the trend?

  1. This is the first I’ve heard of upcycled clothing. Very cool.

  2. Love the idea. It’s so eco-friendly and the potential for creativity is huge. I’ll be writing a post about upcycling in the coming months, too. Thanks for the post!!

  3. Aw, this was an exceptionally nice post. Taking a few minutes and
actual effort to make a superb article… but what
can I say… I procrastinate a lot and don’t manage to get anything done.

  4. Upcycling is still going strong even in 2013.

I love to create using pre-loved mixed with remnants and new fabrics. It’s a great trend which is also eco-friendly, a must for the 21st Century.
