I know we’ve talked about purses before, but I need a new one for spring!
Right now, I’m carrying the Coach Zoe in Graphite:

I LOVE it – it’s the perfect size, plus it’s a crossbody. I’m finding more and more that the crossbody function is essential with a toddler! But, while I love its shiny pewter coloring, it’s almost April. It’s time for something with a little more color, don’t you think??
I’m deeply in love with a green bag I saw the last time I was at the Coach outlet, but alas – not a crossbody. Am I being too crazy about wanting a crossbody bag? I’m beginning to think so, because there are some REALLY cute shoulder bags out right now.
There’s the Jessica Simpson Just Ruffle Hobo: (I saw it in store the other day, and there was a gorgeous purple one. WANT.)

Image from Macys.com. Think what you want about her music, the girl makes some good shoes and handbags.
A splash of red is always fun, no matter the season. Although this is “officially” a fall/winter bag, you certainly can’t beat the $29.99 price tag! The Nine West Dark Angel:
Of course, if money were no object, something like the Cole Haan Vintage Valise Kendra tote would be nice, dontcha think?
I don’t mind spending at least a little cash on a purse. Considering I carry it for about 4-6 months; I use it every day; and I have a toddler, thus I carry snacks and toys and have a constant, uh, “helper”, cheaper ones generally don’t cut it. (Example: I bought an Old Navy purse that was an almost identical knock-off of the one I was coveting at the Coach outlet last year, and the Old Navy purse fell apart after three days. THREE DAYS. That’s not a good cost-per-use, friends.)
So those are my parameters. Do you have a purse I should look at? Tell me in the comments!

I have been using this one lately – the Baggeallini Sydney bag. It’s not ruffly but it is a crossbody purse (I have three kids, the youngest is 3 so I understand wanting that part). It has a hundred and six zippered pockets so I never need to worry that something is going to fall out when I lean over to chase above said 3-year old. It’s nylon so it wipes clean nicely and comes in a bunch of different colors.
My only problem is that since it is so big, sometimes I load it up and it gets too heavy with books, snacks, gameboys, etc. – but i am with you – I’m a purse person, not a shoe person. I have purses that I’ve had for YEARS AND YEARS and it’s worth spending money on them because I use them forever.
oops I spelled Baggallini wrong – sorry. Not had my tea yet. 🙂
Criminy, here’s my third comment: here’s the link to the bag:

Sorry. I’ll collect myself a little more before posting next time.
Ha! It’s all good. Thanks for the tip, Sari – I haven’t tried a Baggallini yet. I like the idea of zippered pockets, because OH HO HO, the stuff that can come tumbling out of a non-secured purse, right? 😉
I really liked the Nine West one. I’ve always been a big fan of their shoes, and more and more I like their purses, too. I would definitely go with color, something that makes you smile when you see it.
I treated myself to a Vera Bradley for my birthday in February. I still have reservations about a fabric purse, but I’m loving the size, plus the ability to zipper the whole thing closed.
One thing I always check when buying a purse is whether or not my cell phone is accessible and is there a pocket that fits it.
I used to do the cross body strap a lot, too, but with my youngest turning 3 in 2 months, I’m okay with an over the shoulder purse.
My winter bag is the Coach Zoe in brown and yes I am looking for a summer bag. Need to go cross border shopping to visit the Coach store again. V
Check out the Carina Zipper Tote – handheld & cross body option (not leather, but wipes clean for toddler messes)

Or try it in leather! Same function, just chicer ; )

Good luck with your search Becky!
WOW, I love it. That is a sweet bag!!
And don’t take my word for it, look how great Sarah makes it look: http://whoorl.com/
I am in LOVE with that bag. It ALMOST makes me wish I needed a diaper bag again! Ha.
I just got a new Vera Bradley purse as a present to myself for my birthday. They have a ton of different patterns and are definitely good colors for spring and summer!
keep an eye on hautelook and gilt. they have kate spade occasionally for like half off. TO DIE FOR!
Oooo, ladies, what say we about this one? It’s like Coach read my mind, or at least my post. I just got an e-mail about the Kristin Hippie :

I hope they have something like this at the outlet, preferably in a fun spring color! Ideally, I’d like to spend about half of what it retails for… (dreaming!)
