Up To Your Neck

I know you’re busy.  I’m busy.  Up to your neck.  ONE. MORE. THING. to the beauty regimen?  NO THANKS!  But this one is EASY and SO. WORTH. EVERY. STEP.  Bang for your buck, as it were.

You’ve seen women who have a nice taut face but not-so-taut neck.  And you’ve probably learned from a dozen beauty articles that you should moisturize your neck.  I’m sure you already do your face with a noncomedogenic (doesn’t clog your pores) product, right?  Right??  Because you don’t want your skin being clogged by products that will make you break out, prevent the moisturizer from doing its job and keeping your skin from breathing.

So let’s think about this.  You clean your face, use a toner and then moisturize, because you don’t want to start with skin that is clogged with makeup, dirt, baby food, whatever.  So, what about your neck?  You shower once a day, either in the morning or evening and your face and neck get nice and clean.  Check.  Use a toner.  Check.  Moisturize.  Check.

How about the other time of day?  I shower in the morning but only wash my face at night.  So here’s what I do.  Wash my face.  Use a cotton square & toner to wipe my face, then do the same to MY NECK before moisturizing BOTH.

Tone AND moisturize your neck!

I’ve been doing this for about a month and I’m surprised at what my cotton square looks like!  Eek!  I’m pleased at the improvement in the texture of my skin, and I’m sure you will be too.

  1. Yes! My husband mentioned recently that he was surprised to see how old Natalie Portman was getting – I reminded him that HE’S older than SHE is, but anyways – and when I asked him why he thought that, he pointed our her neck. Yikes.

She’s gorgeous and barely 30 – her face looks great, but her neck? Not so youthful. Since then I’ve been cleansing, toning, and moisturizing my neck just as much as my face!
