I think it’s safe to say that not many people were more excited about Clinique’s Fall Trend 2011 announcement than I was.

Need I say more? Image from Clinique.com.
I am a longtime lover (as in, 20+years) of Clinique’s Black Honey. Add to that love affair a stash of Sephora gift cards burning a hole in my pocket, and guess who is the proud owner of, uh, most of this limited edition line?
You guys. I am SO excited about this line! Here’s what I got:
1. Lipstick Duo. It’s a lipstick and gloss all built into one. I don’t think I need to explain why this was the first one to jump into my basket. The gloss is pretty sheer, but layered together these products work very nicely together.
2. Eyeshadow Quad. I’ve been looking for a replacement quad since my beloved Pink Chocolate pallete died an unexpected death at the hands of a toddler and a toilet. These are very wearable pinks; that’s the beauty of Black Honey! Universally flattering, in my opinion.
3. Gradient Powder Blusher. We’re nearing summer’s end, which means I’ll be retiring my NARS Orgasm/Laguna blush duo soon (I don’t know what it is, but I can’t wear bronzers once fall gets here. Must be a no-white-pants-after-Labor-Day sort of thing…). This rosy shade will be perfect for brightening my face – and the good news is, since I’ll be all Black Honeyed out, I know all of my makeup will match. HA!
I will say that Sephora is also selling an exclusive Shimmering Tones powder as well, but I personally am not such a fan of the shimmer. There comes a certain time in one’s life when all that glitters is NOT gold, and, well, that time is now for me. Another miss for me was the Brush-on Cream Liner – I’ve actually used this before, and let’s just say that my lack of precision is NOT good for brush-on eyeliners. If this came in a Quickliner, though, bet your bottom dollar that this would have made it into my basket.
So there you have it! My fall makeup collection is now complete. Now, please pass the pumpkin spice latte and I will be all set. What do you love for fall?
Disclaimer: I think it goes without saying that I have absolutely no affiliation with Clinique or Sephora. I just like both brands and spend a lot of my money with them.

I jsut turned 38 and have been loyal (though not monogamous) to Black Honey for even more than 20 years, dare I saw 25? Can’t wait to try to the new line … and I”m pretty sure it’s gift time at our Clinique counter.
Nikki – DITTO. 🙂 Have fun!
