I love it when I find that one of my favorite brands is expanding, and it seems that’s exactly what children’s clothing company Gymboree is doing.
This morning I got an email introducing me to Gymboree’s new line of women’s clothing called Shade. Since I’m forever in love with the quality and style of Gymboree, I decided to check out Shade. I was impressed with what I found. Their clothing looks very comfortable and casual, but the outfits do look pulled together and not lazy. I was most impressed with the reasonable prices.
Upon further research, I learned that Shade is not new at all; it is only new to Gymboree. The company has been around for about seven years in Utah, where it apparently had a strong emphasis on modesty which appealed heavily to the local LDS women’s market. Frankly it appeals to me too. I prefer to be both modest and stylish, which is not so easy to find these days.
The new fall line is out, and here are a couple of outfits that I just love and may have to buy. Of course it’s a little hard to think about long sleeves, leggings and boots when it’s 104 degrees outside, but one can dream, right?
I just love this dress with the opaque tights and boots. The pop of color in the scarf completes the look. This just looks soooo cozy!

I’ve been on the hunt for a well-made denim shirt dress at a reasonable price, and this absolutely fits the bill. Sold!
The best part about Shade Clothing? Free shipping and returns. That just makes it so worthwhile when shopping online. Also now through Sept. 30, you can use the promo code EMAILSIGNUP to get 25% off your order.

I’ve been buying Shade clothing for years. I knew they shut down for a few months and recently re-opened with new styles. I had no idea they reopened under a different company. I think the combination of Gymboree’s quality and Shade’s modest styles is a good mix!
