I know, I know, we just talked about Holiday Party Makeup (did you see that post? If not, take a look. I’ll wait!). I loved Jo-Lynne’s plum suggestion – it really does work for just about everyone! Try it!
Right now we’re in that busy time of year where the day’s schedule is literally packed to the brim. Whether you work at home or out of the home, have kids or no kids, let’s face it. WE ARE ALL BUSY. And I don’t know about you, but I don’t have time to put on a full face of makeup multiple times a day. Here are a couple of things I use to get my makeup to stay all day and night…
For eyes, I always start with a primer. Any primer will do, but I prefer Urban Decay Primer Potion.
I personally like the slight, neutral shimmer that Sin provides, but I also use the Original. After that dries, I put on my eyeshadow. Right now, I’m partial to Clinique’s Black Honey eyeshadow quad, which plays perfectly into Jo-Lynne’s plummy eye suggestion. Add a little liner and mascara, and you’re good to go. Eyes that last from 6 a.m. to midnight.
For lips, I really only have one suggestion. CoverGirl Outlast All-Day Lipcolor.
It’s seriously the best stuff EVER. I put it on in the morning, and it’s still on the next day. I’m not even kidding! If you see some of the colors and think, “WHOA there… too much color!” you may be (pleasantly) surprised. Some of the colors that look extremely bold are really very wearable. For example, one of my favorite colors is Naturalast. If you look at the tube itself, it looks brown and scary. But once it’s on, it looks great. It’s a nice neutral that really complements a bolder eye, like I’m more prone to do.
Don’t get me wrong – some of the colors, you would not catch me in a million years. But for a polished look that stays on day and night, you really can’t go wrong. This stuff lasts through anything and everything.
I will admit, one area I could use a little help in in the make-it-last category: Blush. I can’t find a blush that stays on my face all day. Anybody want to share some tips for that?? Tell me in the comments!
