There are some really cute stripes out there. Sweaters, dresses, t-shirts. Bold, bright, zig-zags. Have you seen the celebrities?

And against my better judgment, I’ve tried some on. If you’re not tall and/or skinny, it’s pretty hard to pull off. And you’ve gathered that I am not tall and/or skinny by now, right? But I learned that I can wear stripes. Here’s how:

The cocktail dresses are a little bit out of the “styles for real life” range, but you get the idea, right?

But that Rachel Covey top in the bottom left is awesome — it doesn’t even look like stripes.
Oh I agree with you! I am really NOT about “rules,” my answer usually being “it depends!” But being short *and* chubby *and* over 50 I try not to make a fool of myself! 😉 heh
I totally bucked the rules and rocked horizontal stripes today…in spite of my baby bump. Ha! Love those scarves!
