Look Smart for the Office in an Oasis dress

In recent years, dress codes for work have (thankfully) relaxed in many places and, unless you work for a firm of lawyers, brokers or traders, chances are you can put a little bit more personality into your work outfits than would have been permitted twenty years ago.

Oasis has always been a great place to shop for work clothes and most of the bigger stores even have dedicated ‘work clothes’ sections with a great range of trousers, cardis, blouses and smart skirts. Oasis clothes are well made and true to size, which means you can usually pop in and pick up a few new work tops without having to try them on. After all, there’s nothing worse than spending the majority of your precious lunch hour queuing for the changing rooms in a crowded store.

Now that most people are finally thinking about putting the winter woollies away for another year, it might be time to consider adding a few new items to your spring ‘work’ wardrobe. And, if you’ve spent most of the last four months in trousers and blouses, then why not invest in a few pretty dresses to take you through to summer. You can always wear them with thick black tights and a cardi for now, then dare to bare the pins and ditch the sleeves when the weather gets warmer.

There’s lots to choose from in the Oasis dress collection right now, with plenty of styles that are just right for the office. Following on from last year’s nautical theme, anchor prints are very big news and work really well for simple navy skater dresses. The ubiquitous Breton stripes are still a favorite and great for a more relaxed look – dress down Friday perhaps.

And, Oasis also do their take on block colors with gorgeous soft pastels like camel and pink, rather than the more ‘in your face’, bold primary colors which were so popular last year. Of course, there’s always a place for a punchy orange and fuchsia combo, but this is probably not ideal for skin that has just come out of hibernation – give it six months and then wear it with pride!

  1. Tiffany says:

Oooh, they have some really pretty dress choices!!

  2. Maybe it’s just that their models are 10 feet tall but most of those dresses are waaaayyyy too short for any office I’ve ever worked in. That being said, they are adorable!

  3. Oasis dresses are really cute but too short. I’m 5″5 and most of their dresses hit well above my knees, if I bend over, my thighs are exposed! Why on earth can’t they make their dresses knee length or at least offer a slightly (2 inches) longer length option?
