Shopping and Pampering in One Place? Yes please!

I recently discovered a really cool  secret; the Nordstrom store in the Houston Galleria near me has it’s very own in-store spa! I’m a huge fan of Nordstrom and have shopped there for years but I had no idea there was a Spa Nordstrom in Houston. Spa Nordstrom is only available in a few select Nordstrom stores around the country and we are just extra specially blessed here in the Bayou City. So as soon as I learned about this amazing place I decided to pay it a visit.

You’ll see from the website that Spa Nordstrom has quite an extensive list of services, including such interesting and unique things as Aruyvedic massage. The reviews I found were excellent, calling it an “oasis” within the mall but completely isolated and serene inside. I scheduled an appointment for long overdue eyebrow definition (otherwise known as a brow wax) with Roxanna on a Sunday afternoon. My appointment happened to take place right in the middle of the fantabulous Women’s Half-Yearly sale!

The door to the salon was right inside the entrance from the parking garage, next to the wedding gowns and formal dresses, so it’s no wonder I missed it in the past. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, which is pretty much the norm at Nordstrom. I was pleasantly surprised to see they sold a few great products inside the Spa including Morroccan Oil products and Clairsonic. I noticed they used Essie nail polish, a favorite of mine, which you can also order online. I love this little resort collection pack and this blue color knocks my socks off.

Roxanna took great care with my eyebrows and made pleasant conversation with me. They were super overgrown and I’m quite happy with the results. She waxed, tweezed and trimmed for a long time to get them just right. She also strongly encouraged me to start using daily Vitamin C treatments on my sun damaged skin. Duly noted.

Of course I had to stop by the shoe department after my Spa visit to check out the half yearly sale. I found these incredible pumps by Enzo Angiolini for only $60 and these sandals that would go with everything by Franco Sarto, also for a mere $60.

Spa Nordstrom is not the only hot spot in Houston of course. After all that shopping and pampering, may I suggest finishing the day off with a cocktail at the hottest bar in H-town, Anvil. The place to see and be seen is also home of Bobby Heugel’s truly unique libations.

Shopping, getting pampered, and then capping it off with a cocktail? Sounds like a pretty great day to me.
