Trunki by Melissa & Doug

Hold on to your hats, Moms. Traveling with your kids just got a million times easier! Meet Trunki:

I love this thing.

When Colin and I traveled to Jamaica by ourselves last month, the Melissa & Doug Trunki was a lifesaver. It was the perfect size for all of the necessities for the 4-year-old traveler – it fit books, coloring books and markers, stuffed animals, snacks and – most importantly – his blankey and Cuddleuppet. But the ability to carry up to 75-pounds of weight was fabulous!  I didn’t need to drag along my stroller (which is such a pain to check at the gate – and now they sometimes make you check it to baggage which is not helpful AT ALL). Especially when we finally arrived in Philly at 2:30am and my little dude was way too tired to walk and I had too much stuff to carry.

Colin was the hit of the airport riding his Trunki around the terminal. Everyone was commenting on how cool it was – several travelers asked if there was am adult version 😉 I lost track of how many people asked where we bought it!

And it was great entertainment during our 4 hour flight delay! Not only for riding around the terminal, but it makes a great spot for a impromptu puppet show…

It also was helpful as a stool in the bathroom so he could wash his hands! It is extremely durable (it made it through an international trip with Colin without a scratch) and easy to pull and steer when it has a heavy preschooler riding on it. The long strap wrapped perfectly over the handle of my carry-on suitcase for when Colin was too tired to carry it himself and it fits perfectly under the airplane seat.

I highly recommend this product to all parents! It would make a great gift! Colin loves his Trunki and my older girls are so jealous that they both added Trunki to their birthday lists!

disclosure: i received this item free of charge to facilitate this review. as always, all opinions are my own.

  1. OK, wow. That thing looks awesome! If I had to fly/travel regularly with my little guy it would totally be worth the investment. 😉

  2. I LOVE TRUNKI! I worked with them in the UK and Little M has one! I even did a review of their storage bins which can be used as a push/pull toy too. I didn’t realize they weren’t in the US.

By the way, HOLA from Chile! xo
