Food and fashion are two passions I have and I try to keep both as pretty as I can!
Food preparations are one place I do what I can to follow the four step process outlined by the USDA in keeping my cooking super safe: Clean, Separate, Cook, Chill.
CLEAN: Basically, that means washing the meat thoroughly and keeping one’s hands CLEAN before and after food prep.
SEPARATE: Keeping food prep surfaces clean is crucial too. I keep my meat, poultry, seafood and eggs SEPARATE in my grocery cart, in my refrigerator and on cutting surfaces.
COOK: I COOK my meats to the right temperatures.
CHILL: AND, I CHILL perishable foods quickly and then watch for things that may have stayed in the refrig for too long!!
What are you cooking for the 4th of July?
