Favorite Formal Gowns

Inspired by the lovely gowns at the Emmy’s, I started daydreaming a bit about what I would wear to a formal event this fall. (If I wasn’t hugely pregnant, that is…)

Perhaps this gorgeous satin jersey capelet gown from Ann Taylor?

Didn’t have time to fit in three million tricep curls before your big event? This dress brings all the drama and effortlessly hides any little arm flaws you may have. Enjoy 30% off with code FALLCHIC.

Or what about this lovely criss-cross waist mesh gown by Alex Evenings?

The rich plum color is perfect for fall evenings, and I adore the figure-flattering empire waist. Even better? It retails for only $135!

What about a navy colored gown? I adore this chiffon and lace number by Adrianna Papelli, reminiscent of the teal Jenny Packham gown worn by Princess Kate last spring.

The gauzy chiffon adds glorious movement to this elegant lace gown, almost making it look like you’re floating as you walk in it. I also adore the sweet cap sleeves and simple ribbon waist.

And what is a collection of formal gowns without a drop of glorious red? For that I turn to Cache’s Red Carpet Glamour Collection where I found this stunning red sequin collar gown.

Halter necks are so flattering, and the detail on this one will frame your face beautifully.

What about you? What’s your favorite formal gown style?
