Style Your Space with Real Simple & Staples

I know you all know about my serious weakness for office supplies. Especially binder clips. And now, in our new house, I have an office. My very own OFFICE!

This is very exciting for me.

I love my office – after years of working at the kitchen table, having a dedicated office space is just heaven. After putting my kids on the bus in the morning, I grab a cup of coffee, then walk all the way to the next room and take a seat at my computer.

And – my favorite part – at the end of the day, when I see the bus coming up the street, I shut the door and walk away, leaving work behind. That’s one of my favorite parts of having an office. Plus, its right off the kitchen and family room, so I can still keep tabs on what is going on around me when the kids are home. I have three windows that look out into the yard, so I can see and hear the kids playing outside. In the warmer months, when I have my windows open, I can actually hear the kids outside on the playground at recess!

All I need is a new desk. Mine is very old and wobbily and has zero storage, so its not a real step up from working at a table. And after attending the Style Your Space event the other week with Staples and Real Simple magazine, I am SO ready for a new desk!!  I want to get my office organized and stylish for the new year! I saw so many great ideas…

I want something not too big – hopefully with a drawer or two to hide all my office supplies and paper. And I’d like either dark wood or maybe ivory to match the trim and built-in.

I really like – and its only $209! I think this is so elegant – functional, but still stylish.

I just adore  And its only $279! But I need more storage.

Maybe this one

But, I think is my favorite!! And only about $300? Wouldn’t this one look fantastic in my office?

Which is your favorite?

disclosure: I attended an event hosted by Staples and Real Simple, which included a gift basket.

  1. I work at the dining room table. I’m looking for a desk similar to those I like the first one, I have a lot of junk to hide.

  2. I love all your choices! And your new office is SWEET!! You definitely need a nice desk to work on.

  3. I love the second table with no storage. I try so hard to keep my office from cluttering so I have less and less storage all the time and just keep tossing papers away instead of piling them 🙂

  4. I need to get back in the habit of working in my office area… i’ve been working in my living room this year, not sure why!

Love that you have a space with a door you can close!

  5. HURRAH! Congrats on having an office!! I would pick the 3rd desk and paint it turquoise 🙂

  6. I love the one that reminds me a bit of a picnic table—even without the storage. I have an Ikea desk that has no storage so have a set of drawers behind me and another set in the room. Not idea as far as being rid of clutter but is working for me.

  7. I think I’m liking the last one too. Though I absolutely adore the built-ins behind your desk!
