ATC Favorite: SentoSphere

These days it is almost impossible to buy cool gifts for tweens. Craft kids tend to be too lame, toys are too young, clothes are too risky. I cry uncle and go with a gift card (to a bookstore, of course, to be encourage educational choices).

Then we discovered Sentosphère and we now gave a new go-to gift!!

For the artist: My super artistic daughter loved the Aquarellum kit. Its not paint by numbers – kids get these gorgeous picture cards that help them create truly cool, detailed works of art. This was her first try at true watercolor painting – mixing colors to create a full rainbow of options. She was fascinated. It was challenging enough for my 11 year old, but our 8 year old neighbor did just fine.

For the girly girl: There are tons of jewelry options – lots of different bracelet and ring making kits – my daughter was blown away by the Perfume Maker Kit – note to parents: this is an OUTSIDE activity. She was VERY fragrant when she was done! But she found this absolutely fascinating! She has spent hours creative scents and trying combinations. Its very cool – and a very unique project for a little lady!

For the smarty-pants: My girls both LOVE science experiments. So they both enjoyed the Optical Mysteries kit. It has 25 educational experiments, from creating a rainbow to harnessing solar power to building a kaleidoscope! Now at $70, this is pricey, but you really do get a TON of experiments in a single package! Its very cool and my kids have played for hours and are not even through all the experiments yet. Its a great investment for summer vacation!

Sentosphère’s new product ranges are filled with instructive fun, encouraging us to uproot more expressive sensorial behavior, pushing for more artistic development and inciting a more open-minded outlook on the world. Aquarellum, Sandimage, Spa Lab, and numerous activity or scientific kits require using all 5 senses, tickling the artistic awareness of people of all ages.
