Back to School with Rack Room Shoes

This week, we’ve been hitting the back to school shopping HARD. All of my kids have practically doubled in size this summer. (Ok, not really, but they really have outgrown practically everything they own.) This fall, both my girls needed new running shoes for Girls on the Run, as well as school shoes. So we headed to our favorite shoe store in our mall: Rack Room Shoes.  They carry all the top brands – including favorites like Sperry Top-Sider, Converse and Nike – and with their amazing sales, you can’t go wrong.

For back-to-school, they had practically everything on sale, PLUS shoes were buy one, get one half off!! So for less the regular price on just one pair of shoes, my kids each got two pairs! SCORE!

But we’re very blessed. I can take my kids shopping and buy them shoes when they need them.  But there are many – too many – kids who go back to school with ill-fitting or damaged shoes because they don’t have another option. Rack Room Shoes is partnering with Shoes That Fit, a national non-profit organization that provides shoes to disadvantaged children, to help them focus on their studies.

This Back to School season, Rack Room Shoes is raising funds through their annual Shoes That Fit campaign to provide new shoes to local children in need to start the school year. All of the funds collected at Rack Room Shoes stores stay local, benefitting children in your community.  Even a small donation of $5 can make a BIG difference in the lives of kids in need.  For the past seven years Rack Room Shoes has provided nearly 89,000 pairs of new shoes to children who need them

With a $5 donation, you’ll also get an adorable Shoes That Fit totebag! Rack Room Shoes will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to local Shoes That Fit programs. It continually amazes me how much small gifts add up!  Last year, Rack Room Shoes raised more than half a million dollars through the campaign. The funds raised will be distributed to school liaisons that identify children who need new footwear in your community. You can donate in your local store or online (where you can designate the community you’d like to benefit.)

With all that money you save by shopping at Rack Room Shoes, why not give back to kids in need?

We did! And I hope you’ll join us!
