Cuddle Up in Cashmere

If you believe the weather reports, most of us are in for a bit more warm weather before fall settles in entirely. But I am a firm believer in the importance of cashmere, even when winter is far off. There’s nothing so luxurious and lovely as a thin, cozy sweater or accessory for this time of year. Cuddle up in some of my favorites at every price point.

8602224_fpxSuper-flattering and easy to dress up or down, this blended sweater offers just enough cashmere and a modern fit. I love how they’ve paired it with leather-look leggings — you would do just as well in a plain old cotton pair. Add heels and jewelry to the look as styled, or keep bare-baubled and slip into your favorite flats for a casual approach. Snuggle-approved and ready for couch time with the kiddos, too. Love Scarlett Asymmetric sweater, $78, Bloomingdales.

A total must for the mom-on-the-go, the cashmere poncho is where lazy comfort meets a polished attitude. Here, it’s worn over a simple cotton long-sleeve and a pencil skirt; your options are limitless. From jeans to a dress to the stand-in for outerwear with any work ensemble, the poncho is easy to throw on as you head out the door and keeps you cozy all day without overheating. Equally appropriate for dinner and beyond. Cashmere poncho, $198, AnnTaylor.

scarfYou can go there. We won’t tell! A super-spotty scarf adds whimsy and fun, while becoming the piece you want to cuddle up in constantly. Pair it with a sheath dress and flats or pumps now; later over more cashmere with slacks as seen here. Absolute luxury is yours with this piece — just keep it away from those sticky fingers of the next generation! Lanvin Polka Dot scarf, $950, Barney’s.

This chic swing sweater is ideal for fall as it’s lightweight and easy, but offers yummy coziness. The ombre sleeves give it an extra something — I’m loving this with jeans (blue, black, gray, whatever!), leather pants, or leggings. A sweater this interesting doesn’t require jewelry, but feel free to load on the silver for more fun. Vince Ombre V-Neck Sweater, $325, Nordstrom.

sofiaI can’t help it — I’ve got babies on the brain! A cable-knit cashmere throw is kind of a must if you’re building a nursery like I am right now. Currently lusting after this pretty pink option, also available in baby blue and a soft yellow. These make a great gift for the mom-to-be but I’m sure if you look in the right places you’ll find a grown-up size version, too! Sofia Cashmere baby blanket, $175, Saks.
