The holidays are such an exciting time of the year! All the parties, get-togethers and casual coffee dates with friends. I feel like I get ‘stuck’ in the mode of wearing the same thing to work and on the weekends all the time. But December is the time to step your style up a bit when celebrating. And while a new bangle or necklace doesn’t hurt, let’s be honest: it’s all about the shoes.

I threw on these Xappeal Angel brown booties (currently on sale for only $35!) with my favorite chunky knit sweater before heading out for a bit of holiday shopping and drinks with my girlfriends. Even though snow hasn’t hit yet this year, these booties kept me warm, comfortable and dry throughout my daily adventures.

And for my work holiday party (which of course, I needed to go to straight from work), I was struggling to come up with an outfit that was appropriate for both work and play. I ended up keeping with my normal work outfit of a sheath dress and black tights, but added a sparkly necklace and a pair of Xappeal Dutchess black booties. Not only are these comfortable enough to take me throughout the workday to a holiday party at night, but I love that they have a bit of ‘edge’ to them with the leather trim. Conservative enough for a day at the office, but trendy/dressy enough for a night out. I think these might be part of my New Year’s Eve outfit this year too!
