Share a Coke for Father’s Day

Father’s Day is always a fun day to honor Dad for all he does and show him how much we appreciate him. Every year, the kids have a blast planning a special day just for him! It’s so sweet how they put so much thought into his favorite things (and sometimes, what they think his “favorite things” are!)

To start, they’re planning to surprise him with breakfast in bed! They want to give him eggs and bacon, a fruit salad (made themselves) and maybe a treat or two from the Italian bakery down the street. It’s a classic for a reason! We usually just give small gifts for Father’s Day, like new racquetballs, fishing gear or a new headlamp for camping. Everyone wraps their own and is always so excited to watch him open gifts!

Then they are trying to decide on a fun activity to do together. Maybe we’ll take a ride down the bike path to the ice cream shop or go kayaking on the bay.

And we can’t have Father’s Day without letting Daddy relax and watch some soccer!

For dinner, we have to grill and eat outside. It is Father’s Day, after all!  Isn’t that a law or something? Our family’s favorite homemade grilled pizza will be on the menu and Coca-Cola.

My husband is a huge fan of Coca-Cola! He grew up overseas and for him and his siblings, Coca-Cola was a huge treat! It was one of the few American brands they could get where they were living, so it was a taste of home when they were feeling homesick.
