When we’re traveling, I’m a sucker for a hotel with character. No cookie cutters for us. When we visit a city, we love to find a hotel that really captures that city. For Providence… That’s the Providence Biltmore. Period.
Listed as a member of the program Historic Hotels of America under the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Providence Biltmore was designed by the celebrated firm Warren and Wetmore, the architects behind New York City’s Grand Central Station. It debuted to widespread acclaim in 1922 and quickly became the tourist and social center of Providence. Today, deeply woven within the city’s fabric and culture and beloved by generations of guests, the Providence Biltmore is an authentic Providence tradition. Just stepping into the lobby gives you the impression that you’ve gone back in time, with stunning chandeliers and breathtaking architecture.
Typically, an ‘historical’ hotel means ‘small.’ But our room was huge – a rare hotel room big enough for our family of five with room to spare! The design was just perfect – classic, clean and modern with a vintage twist!
Our room (a junior suite) had two king beds, a couch, comfy chairs, a desk, full bath with tub and even a walk-in closet! Despite it being a Waterfire night, the hotel hosting a large wedding and the Providence Arts Festival happening right outside the hotel, our room was incredibly quiet. I had packed earplugs, anticipating lots of noise, but didn’t need them!
The Providence Biltmore has loads of amenities and services… most obviously the amazing location! You’re footsteps from all that Providence has to offer – from exclusive shopping to the incredible local attractions. We parked our car with the valet and walked all weekend. McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood & Steaks restaurant and Starbucks are both located in the grand lobby, plus there’s a fully equipped fitness center, valet parking, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
The hotel also is home to the only on-site, full-service hotel spa in the city of Providence. The Spa at Providence Biltmore is stunning. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful – you’d never guess that you were in the heart of the city. Offering everything from manicures and pedicures to full on spa days, you can’t go wrong. My massage was the best I’ve ever had – I can’t imagine going anywhere else in Providence after this!
The Providence Biltmore is part of Hilton’s Curio Collection of unique, boutique hotels. And, as part of the Hilton family, you get all the perks of being a Hilton Honors member. Including their legendary customer service. Every staff member we encountered was helpful, sincere and friendly and was eager to make our stay special. My husband traveled up to Providence for six months before we moved here and probably stayed in every hotel in Providence — the Providence Biltmore is his absolute favorite!
We can’t wait to come back — but maybe next time we’ll leave the kids at home.

Wow! What a beautiful hotel! I love the size of the room, too. We haven’t done many family vacations for our family of 7 because it’s so hard to find something big enough to fit all of us.
Seriously, Barb! When you don’t have a family of 4 travel can be so difficult!!! Thank goodness for hotels who plan for bigger families.
Providence is such a great town to have a wonderful hotel option with so much character just seems like the perfect choice. Historic hotels really are the most beautiful options as they show you what the history of the town is all about =) And yes ~ I’d totally be visiting sans kids too =)
Totally agree – I bet there’s some gorgeous boutique hotel around where you live, too!
Looks fabulous! We have been meaning to do a Northeast trip and this looks like an incredible place to stop! Love the spa pic!!
You should! We’ll take you out for lobster 🙂

Love the size of the suite!
Sometimes it is worth it to pay a little extra and I think in this case- this hotel is WORTH IT! so much character and style- it elevates your experience to a whole new level.
Beautiful hotel! Mental note to stay there if we ever travel to Providence!
