The weather is changing in New England. No more lazy beach days, no more sand between my toes. I’ve been trading my flip flops for boots and adding layers. The seasons are changing – and it’s tempting to slack off your beauty routines when the weather turns cold and we’re not getting ‘beach-ready.’
But I have a few tips to make your morning a little brighter even on the coldest, dreariest mornings!
Embrace nature. Open those shades to let in the natural light! Add a plant to your bedroom or bathroom. I try to have a small vase of flowers in my bathroom or on my nightstand. It’s such a small touch, but flowers make me smile. It’s so invigorating to start the day with a beautiful sight in my bathroom!
Keep those colors bright! Wear a bright pink scarf. Slap on some bright lipstick to brighten up your pale winter face. Have hot pink toenails. Who cares that you packed away your sandals and those toes are usually inside fuzzy boots? A bright color on my toes is something I do just for me to make myself smile.
Get moving. When it’s cold and dark, it’s tempting to pull up the covers and go back to sleep. Get up and get moving! I have a standing appointment with my trainer so I have to get out and show up – even when it’s raining and I just want to stay home and drink coffee. Meet a friend or join a class to force yourself to get out of the house.
Keep shaving. Just because its winter doesn’t mean you should stop. Keep shaving those legs, even though they’re covered in jeans or leggings most of the time. Staying smooth makes me feel more put together and ready to tackle my day!
I adore BIC® Soleil® razors – I’ve used them for years. Now that it’s all cold outside, I love to have my BIC® Soleil® Glow® Razor adding a little sunshine to my shower. It provides a flawlessly smooth shave with its 3 flexible blades and pivoting head. The COMFORT SHIELD® head evenly distributes pressure, glides and helps protect even my dry, winter skin from irritation.
I keep one in my shower at home, one in my gym bag and one in my travel toiletries bag for work – at this price, I can have one everywhere I go!
What are your tips to make dreary mornings bright in winter?

Good reminder. I tend to let this go in the winter.
Not gonna lie– I HATE shaving if I don’t absolutely have to– but when you have a bright and colorful razor- it helps to keep you motivated!
Great tips! A little bit goes a long way, doesn’t it? I am terrible about shaving in the winter but for my sanity, you’re totally right, I have to maintain! Love BIC Soleil! Lightweight, pretty, and a great shave.
great reminder!!
OMG!! Yes, this is a great reminder!!
In the winter – I don’t as much and it drives Matt crazy!! LOL!!!
XOXO
Love it. All of it! I would be lost without my trainer, and I just had my toenails painted bright turquoise. 🙂 I definitely try to keep shaving, but I confess, I might skip a day here and there in the colder months. Great reminder to keep up with the personal hygiene. I am sure Paul would appreciate that! ha!
Yes! All great tips!!! I keep my razor in the shower too, btw. Makes things easier!
