Weight Watchers Giveaway!

***UPDATE:  Cogratulations to commenter #42, Leah!!

"What an exciting opportunity! I just gave birth to my first child two months ago. Before I got pregnant, I was at my all-time highest weight. I am seriously motivated to get things into gear & be fit so I can keep up with my little guy as he gets mobile. I also don’t want to be in the same place two or three years from now, when we might want to have another child. I did WW online about two years ago & lost 10 lbs. I have started walking regularly with a girlfriend 3-5 time a week, but I would LOVE to get back into the game & utilize those online tools again too! :D"

About a year ago I had an epiphany.  I was fat.  By doctors’ terms I may have even been obese.  I was completely unhappy with how I looked and how I felt and decided that it was time that something was done.  After talking with different people about all kinds of diets and eating plans, I decided to try Weight Watchers Online.

Ww_2

I had never done Weight Watchers, but I knew a few people who had and they all seemed to have success with the program.  Some had kept it off and yes, admittedly some had gained their weight back, but I don’t believe that was really a fault of the program, but rather the people themselves falling back into bad habits. Weight Watchers truly is a way of life and not just a diet so what you learn on the program must be exercised continuously.

I signed up for Weight Watchers Online because honestly, going to meetings just didn’t interest me.  I am a self-motivated person, and if I set my mind on accomplishing something, then everybody watch out cause not much can stop me!! (Those of you who know me in real life can stop laughing now!)

Online there were also some great tools, and the techie in me had a blast using the point tracker, weight tracker, exercise tracker, recipe maker, message boards, and all the other cool E-tools.  I started tracking what I was eating, and about a year later I was 40 pounds lighter and feeling great.  I felt so great that I found myself tracking less and less so I decided to unsubscribe and see what I could do on my own.

I did well for awhile, and then yep, you guessed it, I fell back into bad habits.  There was no way I was going to let myself go down that road again so I decided to re-subscribe to lose the last 20 pounds and reach my final goal.

When you join Weight Watchers Online, you have the ability to choose a food plan that works for you. You can choose either the Flex Plan where you are given a certain amount of points and can eat what you choose as long as you stay within your point range, or the Core Plan where you can eat as much as you want as long as the food is a core food.

One thing about me — I do NOT do well with somebody telling me I can’t have something. So I chose the flex plan so I can use points however I choose. Of course the more fruits and veggies I eat, the more food I am allowed since they are so low in points, but if I want that Oreo cookie, it’s not a problem as long as I track it.

The food tracker is a breeze to use to keep track of your points. The majority of the foods that I eat are already in their database so all I have to do is type in the name of the food and voila, I know how many points it is. If I’m making something special for dinner then I can use the recipe builder where I enter all the ingredients, how many servings it has, and then know exactly how many points the recipe is. When eating out, most of the food is already in there so I can check the menu online and then use the tracker to find the best food for me. So easy!!

Why am I telling you all this?

I met a PR for Weight Watchers on Twitter the other day, and she gave me three three-month subscriptions to Weight Watcher Online for me to giveaway to my readers.

So now you can have the opportunity to try out Weight Watchers Online for yourself, and we can be Weight Watcher buddies! I am giving away one online subscription over at A Box of Chocolates, plus I will also be giving one away at Blissfully Domestic where I share Weight Watcher friendly recipes, and most importantly you can win one RIGHT HERE!

All you have to do to win is leave a comment here telling me why you want to lose weight. I will use random.org to choose the lucky winner on Sunday, August 24th.

  1. I want to lose weight for myself because I’m tired of being big. I’m tired of shopping in the plus size department.

  2. The Pumkin Patch says:

I want to lose weight because:
    1. I’m unhappy with myself and to be a better mom, I need to be.
    2. I want to be able to run and play with my kids without getting worn out.
    3. I want to feel better about who I am.
    4. I want to be healthy

  3. I want to lose weight because:

    1) I want to be healthy.
    2) I want my children to learn healthy habits.
    3) I do not want to be a prisoner to my fatness.
    4) I want to live long enough to see my future grandchildren.
    5) I do not want to be an embarrassment to my husband and children.

  4. I want to lose weight because my hubby took a picture of me at the park on Sunday, and I looked so gross, much fatter than I think I look. I immediately deleted it, as if just deleting the evidence would get rid of the fat. Somewhere in my brain I’m a size 10, but in reality I’m a 16. I keep thinking something magical will happen to melt the weight off. So far, that’s not working!

  5. I actually lost almost 60 lbs on WW in 2006, before I got pregnant. Then, I went off program (they don’t provide support during pregnancies) and fell back into all of my bad habits.

My daughter is one year old now and I can keep up with her – for now. But I know that some day, if I stay the way I am, she will outrun me. I want to re-lose my weight so I can be a positive role model to her and so I can be around for her to have her own children.

  6. Because I felt so much better when I wasn’t heavy.

Because my daughter needs a better example now that she is becoming more self aware.

I want to stop feeling so self-conscious all the time.

I want my children to be proud (not ashamed) of me.

    ~v

  7. Oh I would LOVE to win this!

I went on a lovely 15th anniversary trip with my husband in May. The problem? Delicious food! I started the summer off 5 lbs heavier (on top of the 5 to 10 that I needed to lose anyway).

I have done the WW Core plan on my own and have been successful at losing weight.

I would love to try out the online tools.

  8. Oh I so need to lose weight (which you know since we are on the same tweighloss team!) First for the obvious, to be healthier. Secondly, we want to have another baby in a few months and I’d like to be able to have as healthy a pregnancy as possible.

Also! If I win, think of how much more I could lose for our team 🙂

  9. among the many reasons i have to lose weight – i need to become on example and not the do as i say but not as i do mom for my kids. fitting into that cute pair of jeans i have tucked away wouldn’t be so bad either ;O)

  10. I want and need to lose weight for health. And to not be embarrassed to go in public anymore.

  11. I would love to win this because I am stuck with 30 lbs. to lose and I just can’t seem to get motivated by myself to get it off. I also have a really bad back and I know the extra weight is making me hurt worse than I should. I know WW works because my mom lost her weight sucessfully through WW years ago. Thank you for your giveaway!

  12. Here I go again… the more I say why I want to lose weight, the more I realize I NEED HELP!
So I would LOVE to lose a good 30 lbs because I really am disgusted by my muffin top stomach! My hubby is diabetic and we BOTH need to lose weight as well as being more active. We plan on joining a gym in September. I really want my son to learn healthy eating habits.
Thanks for the chance to try out WW Online!

  13. Ah, this is easy. I want to lose weight because I need to keep up with the 3 and 4 yr old boys that God has blessed us with!

  14. I would like to lose weight:

    to have more energy
to look good, especially for my husband
to fit back into my old clothes
to be ready for another baby
to look more like my pre-mother state

  15. For all the reasons listed above and then some (plus my subscription runs out SOON LOL).

  16. I would love to win this subscription because my lovely Dr. told me in no uncertain terms that if I dont lose weight I will never get pregnant…I NEED to be a mother. Weight stands in the way of me creating life.

  17. I’m a Lifetime Member of WW, and currently have gained back every bit of the roughly 20 lbs. I lost 2 years ago. Dang! I’m struggling to do it here, because I’ve been to the meetings and don’t like the speakers. When I lost, my husband and I did it together, and now I’m on my own (although he needs to lose too). Motivation is just so hard. I’d love to get online and see what’s possible there. My Mom does it, and she got me a 3-month journal, so I’m all set to go — just need a buddy! 🙂

  18. i would like to be able to fit in my jeans come fall–in other words I’ve gained some lbs over the summer!!

  19. You know I’m a WW fan! I just got back from another 2 weeks away from home and this time I did gain more weight.

I want to lose weight to be comfortable first, fit in my old clothes, be healthy and keep Type 2 diabetes away.

I was going to restart the meetings, but maybe I’ll wait to see if I win an online subscription and give it a try. Thanks for giving these away! Very cool!

  20. I want to lose weight because basically I am fat….wow, I said it! I also learn to eat better than I do…help

  21. I lost about 25 pounds three years ago. A year later we put our house on the market and I got stressed out and ended up eating out way too much so we wouldn’t mess up the kitchen. I gained it all back and then some. Well I haven’t been able to lose it and now we are selling our house again. I am really afraid I am going to gain more weight if I don’t get a plan together.

  22. I recently started dieting and excersising. I want to be around for when my kids have children and I would like to feel better about myself.

  23. Wendy aka misswendiki says:

I need to lose weight to be healthier. I accept the fact that I will never be skinny, but I don’t want to be obese anymore.

  24. I started excersizing 4-5 days a week 7 months ago and lost 20 pounds, but I’m still considerably overwieght and need to lose at least another 40, but the scale’s not budging. I really need help controlling my food intake. I want to keep losing because I feel great!

  25. This summer hasn’t been kind to my body where weight is concerned–those baby pounds added some *friends*. I’d love to start feeling good about clothes shopping again, too!

  26. See how determined I am to win? I’m commenting here too!!! So for the third time…please pick me and help me lose the pregnancy weight left over from baby #4 before she is no longer a baby! 🙂

  27. I want to lose weight so I can not feel exhausted at the end of a day with my one year old and so I can set a good example for her.

  28. GiantsPrincess says:

Hubby and I did WW about 5 years ago. I was 10 lbs from my goal when we hit a really hard time in our family.

My mom went into the hospital with stomach pains. She was diagnosed with advanced liver cancer and passed away within 3 weeks.

Three months after that my mother-in-law, who had been through thyroid issues, breast cancer and emphasyma passed away.

Exactly one month later my father-in-law, who had also been through a lenghty illness, passed away.

Three parents in four months pushed my hubby and I back into the Emotional Eating cycle and we haven’t been able to pull ourselves back out.

I was looking at – and backing up – old pictures and came across some from our “skinny” days. We both got very depressed and want to get back to a healthier eating style.

I have the exercise thing down this time though – I’m at the gym 5 days/week for weight lifting and yoga so if I can get my eating habits back with a WW membership I would be so excited and grateful.

    Thank you for the opportunity.

  29. and one more time!

  30. I’m 50 pounds overweight and my doctor wanted me to try Weight Watchers, but I couln’t afford it. My cholesterol is too high, my blood pressure is getting higher, and my energy level is 0. I need help!

  31. I just got married, and I want to stay healthy and continue to lose weight as I begin married life.

  32. Since my twins were born I have about 50 lbs to lose and am having one heck of a time doing it! I know how much WW would help, I’ve lost weight with them before, but just don’t have the extra $$ to join right now. 3 months free would be just what I need to get things rollin!

  33. I’d like to lose weight to have more energy, to look better and not to be out of breath chasing my toddler.

  34. An online prgram would be great because I live in a rural area and drving to meetings just wouldn’t work for me! I want to lose weight so I can be cute and sexy again 🙂

  35. Please enter me! I want to feel better about myself, plain and simple. 🙂

  36. I want to set a good example to my daughters and be vibrant and healthy at 40!

  37. I’ve registered on all 3 sites! Maybe 3 is my lucky #

  38. My husband and I are going to Kauai for Christmas this year. We will be married 17 years and have never gone on a vacation together. I’m so excited! I would love to lose some weight and feel comfortable on the beach in a bathing suit.

  39. Need this to lose the last of the baby weight….BTW the “baby starts kindergarten tomorrow.

  40. I want to lose weight because the last ten pounds of pregnancy weight are just STUCK, even though my son is 17 months old! I need this extra little help, but I don’t have the time to go to WW in person, what with working full-time and taking care of a toddler (and a husband ;p).

  41. For the first time in my life, I was skinny. I’ve always been chubby. Then I got married, and I got fat. I worked my behind off, and watched everything that went into my mouth, and I got to my dream weight. I wasn’t even this fit or thin in high school. I immediately took all my “fat” clothes to the local women’s shelter, and bought an entire new wardrobe.
I then immediately got pregnant. I now have 50 lbs to lose again. And no time to do it, it feels like. Help!

  42. What an exciting opportunity! 😀

  43. If I don’t use it for myself I would use it for hubby who gained alot of weight on some depression meds and now wants to loose it again.

  44. I had my 6th child 2 months ago. Never got all the weight off after #5… so I’ve easily got 25 pounds to loose – not so easy! I did WW successfully after #2 (that was before I understood “internet”). This sounds awesome!

  45. I want to lose weight to feel better!!! I have 40 or so baby pounds left to lose!

  46. I want to be healthy. I want to be able to run and bike and swim without being winded so easily. I want to learn how to eat healthier and make better choices. Thanks for the giveaway!

  47. I want to lose weight for my health! I have changed some things in my life to live healthier and ‘greener’ and to lose about 10 to 15 pounds would be the best addition! Thanks for such an awesome prize!

  48. Ah, third times the charm right? I am interested in learning how the points system works and would love to try this free trial!

  49. I would love to try the online version. I did the Weight watchers at work plan which was ok but the leader wasn’t very motivational and they didn’t have enough people to keep it going. I’m good at getting to the gym and exercising but the food – not so good. I think this could help me better track what I eat.

  50. I want to lose weight because…
I got married 1 year ago and stopped working out for about 6 months. I have since started up again but I gained so much weight that it is proving harder to lose than I thought! All those cute sun dresses and mini skirts I wore on my honeymoon…can’t even get them over my hips! I was just looking at the prices for weight watcher’s the other day!

  51. Michelle in Auburn says:

I want to lose weight for myself. I am so tired of being overweight.

  52. Please enter me in the drawing….I would love to feel healthier =)

  53. I would love to win because I walked off 30 pounds but now I need help to get off the last 20.

I have heard the Weight Watchers is the best and that it really works.

    Thank you!

  54. I want to lose this weight so I can be healthy and not so sick to look at! I know I am not healthy and that makes me very upset. I want to win so I can lose!!!

  55. The reason I want to lose weight is because even though I have already lost 70+ lbs, I still have over 50 to go. I feel really good and am more active than I have ever been. Thanks for another chance to enter.

  56. Marilyn - A Mixed Bouquet says:

I entered on your “Chocolate” site. 😉 My husband and I are in our 50s and we keep putting this off. It’s ridiculous! Our special needs son is 16, but will be with us as long as we’re alive. We need to extend that time frame…for him!

  57. Michelle in Auburn says:

I would like to lose weight for myself. I am tired of being overweight.

  58. Today is our 1-year anniversary. Last year at this time I had lost 25 pounds with a general diet and a LOT of exercise. Fast forward, and I have now had a baby. While I’m only 5 pounds over my pre-baby weight, I wasn’t done losing and would like to keep going. But I don’t have gym time anymore, so diet is extra important this time around. I know WW will keep me on track. Hope I win!!!

  59. I want to lose weight because I am sick of my lack of energy, I am sick of my lothes not fitting right, and I just want to feel good about my physical appearance again.

    legacyofbrutalitysa{AT}gmail.com

  60. I had a really rough pregnancy culminating in pre-term labor and bedrest, and I gained more weight than was healthy during my pregnancy. I gave birth on June 5 (two weeks early) to a beautiful baby girl, Rowan. I’m having trouble shedding the extra weight, and since my new baby is colicky and very, very, very high-needs I don’t have the time to take care of ME. I’ve been wanting to join Weight Watchers, but with my husband’s layoff, we can’t afford it. I want to be healthy and I want to feel good about myself again.

  61. I want to lose weight to be more healthy, and not be a wreck as I get older 🙂

  62. I want to lose weight because I want to be healthy and have more energy. I think I need some help though and following a plan would be wonderful.

  63. I want to lose weight as soon as my baby is 6 weeks old because I can’t stand this pregnancy weight I’ve gained. It took me a year to lose the 40 pounds I gained during my first pregnancy, and I don’t want to have to wait that long this time around.

  64. I’m tired of being overweight and dealing with HBP, painful knees, shortness of breath and fatigue. I want to reduce the hereditary risk of heart disease I already face. WW is a good program and I’d love to try the on-line version for free.

  65. I need to lose 65 pounds. I believe that Weight Watchers can be a healthy and permanent way for me to do it. I checked for a local meeting and unfortunately the nearest location is a 30 minute drive each way. With a busy family of 5 and the price of gas, local meetings are not an option for me. I really want to use the Weight Watchers Online program; however, I am hesitant because of the initial cost involved. The monthly fee is not the problem it’s the extra registration fee. So I will give it a shot in hopes to win a subscription here, then I can keep it going by just paying the monthly fee. Thanks!

  66. I was in the best shape of my life in 2005, back in a size 6 after 4 kids. Then I got pregnant again and diagnosed with breast cancer. After baby #5, chemo, radiation and continuing drug therapy I now weigh more than I did when I had all FIVE of my kids! I gotta do something to regain my energy, body & self image!

  67. I am a “big” fan of Weight Watcher’s, but not of the meetings. I am an emotional eater, and have
steadily seen my weight climb after the death of my wonderful mother. I just can’t seem to get
motivated. I do exercise though, so I think the online tool would be just the ticket for me.
    Thanks for the opportunity.

  68. I just had my 6th child and have 20 pounds to lose. I feel better when I’m at mt goal weight. Been nearly 4 years since I’ve seen that!

  69. I need something to get me headed in the right direction… something that will work!

  70. Count me in! I have a couple of outfits that I would LOVE to fit back into. Plus I need more energy and would love to be a fit mom. So yes, please put an entry in for me. I have all our fingers and toes crossed. LOL Thanks!

  71. I want to lose weight because I have no energy, my clothes do not fit well, and I’m gaining more each year. Most of all, I know it would be the best thing for my health. I have tried Weight Watchers in the past and it really works if you follow the program. I think Weight Watchers is one of the most sensible eating plans.
