Undies: Take 2

A couple of weeks ago, I explained the virtues of $12 underwear.

I promised in that post that I would be able to justify spending $12 on one pair of underwear, so here we go.

My first pair of Body by Victoria Hiphuggers were purchased7 years ago – which, in my mind, is about a decade ago. That’s not the exciting part though.

The exciting part? I still wear that same pair all.the.time.

So how exactly do I keep my underwear in brand spanking new condition? Easy.

Number one: say no to the dryer.

Drying your underwear wears out the elastic and causes it to break much more easily. The elastic just can’t take the heat.

So instead of using the dryer (which is, admittedly, more convenient), make friends with a drying rack.

Once my undies go through the washer (you didn’t think I was hand washing them, did you? I might be crazy but I draw the line somewhere…), I throw them on the drying rack. They usually sit there for weeks on end overnight and then I throw them in my underwear drawer in the morning.

And when I calculate that the cost per wear of my undies is somehwere in the low $.01 area, I smile.

Because nothing says sexy like 7 year old underwear. Right?

  1. Well I never thought of that. I don’t dry my bras but I do dry my undies. HM.
