I’ve lectured written on the importance of adding make-up brushes to your beauty regimen before.
Good brushes are essential to good makeup application. It’s that simple. If you want to get the job done right, you’ve got to have the right tools.
But, I’m also a realist. I realize some of you may have had every intention of purchasing brushes, but life got in the way and you never got around to it. Others may have had a hard time justifying the expense. (I’ve got to be honest here, if I’m weighing buying either a Lancome Definicils mascara or a blush brush, the mascara’s gonna win. Hands down. Buying tools isn’t necessarily “exciting.”)
But what if I told you we could get all of your major makeup brushes bought for $11?
Well, it’s possible. With this little gem of a product right here: the ecoTOOLS Bamboo 5-piece Brush Set.

We’ve written about ecoTOOLS before. Janel discovered they are high-quality brushes that can be bought separately for around $10 each. For $11, this 5-piece brush set includes all of your major applicators:
- Blush Brush
- Eye Shading Brush
- Eyeliner Brush
- Lash and Brow Groomer
- Concealer Brush
- And a handy hemp and cotton storage roll to keep everything in its place
ecoTOOLS brushes feature bamboo handles and synthetic Taklon bristles that are 100% cruelty free. The brushes feel feathery soft against the skin.
The Eyeliner Brush alone is reason enough to buy this set. Dip it in a little shadow like this and it will give you the cleanest line you’ve ever known. I can draw a thinner, more natural line with this brush and a little shadow than I’ve ever been able to draw with a pencil liner. Period. (For a great tutorial on lining your eyes with shadow, see Carol’s post here. The benefit of using shadow is that it doesn’t smear under your eyes the way a waxy pencil does.)
So, run. This is the deal of the century.
Snap up one for yourself and then buy ahead for birthdays, Christmas, Mother’s Day. I’ve even considered giving them as teacher gifts. I bet it would be infinitely more appreciated than the ol’ “#1 Teacher” mug.
Let’s face it, women don’t generally treat themselves to good makeup brushes. But at this price you can outfit yourself, and every other woman you know, for a song.
ecoTOOLS can be found in store and online at a variety of mass-market retailers, including Target and Walgreens. To find a retailer near you, check out this listing here.

Truly, these are one of my favorite beauty tools. They are still so soft after months of use.
I really think this is one of those items that is worth more than you actually pay! Don’t find that much.
Great post on one of my favorite things!
