All I Want for Christmas…

… is a pair of black boots.

tis-the-season

For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of owning a great pair of black boots. But not just any black boots. Leather boots. Smooth, soft, gorgeous black leather boots. Classically elegant, hugging my calves and ankles in all the right places, with a practical, ice-repellent heel. Oh, and I’d rather not pay more than $100.

My ridiculous specifications may be the very reason I still don’t own any.

But since we’re on this Christmas carnival, and this is my wish list, I’m going to pretend I have no concerns for price or practicality. And that means I just might spring for these $1195 Gucci Paloma Boots.

Gotta love that 4″ stiletto heel.

Since I’m no longer worried about price or how I might navigate icy Michigan streets in these boots, I may as well dream of these gorgeous Louboutin Simple Botta Boots too. After all they only cost $1295.

I just adore the almond toe and red stilettos.

And what footwear wishlist would be complete without a little Manolo Blahnik? Italian calfskin leather. Pointed toes. Sensible 3.5″ heel. $1095 price tag.

Boots just don’t get any more beautiful.

Wandering back into reality, I remember the Deerfield Dress Boots I saw in the latest LL Bean catalog.

These retail for a mere $150, the Brazilian leather is soft and sleek, and I have no fear of slipping on ice with the rubber sole and 2.5″ chunky heel.

There’s only one problem. These gorgeous boots have gotten terrible reviews for calf width – an essential element for any boot-lover with man calves like me. So it’s back to the drawing board… and a dream land filled with Manolo Blahnik boots.

Happy Black Friday, all! Here’s to hoping you find your very own dream boots on sale today.

  1. Okay, I’m now drooling over those Louboutin Simple Botta Boots. O.M.G. They are perfection.

    *back to reality*

  2. Love those heals but I could never get them on. Bunion would not let me slide my foot in. It is crappy to have to be sensible.

  3. I know! These boots are to die for… but the combination of impossible pricing and impossible wearability does not bode well.

You’re absolutely right Valerie – it is crappy to have to be sensible!!
