Five Great Stocking Stuffers

Still looking for a few last-minute ideas to stuff those stockings? Here are some suggestions for the beauty-minded people on your list:

1. Look Ma, New Hands Softening Hand Lotion ($12)

look ma new handsI’m a big fan of unrefined virgin coconut oil for moisturizing my hands in the winter. But a big jar of that would most likely bust through the end of the stocking. So, if you’re looking for a great hand lotion for someone to take on the go, consider this one from Bath & Body Works. It worked wonders on my daughter’s hands last year. It goes on thick and smells lovely.

2. eos Smooth Sphere ($3)

eos-lip-balm-sphere-sweet-mintYep. I’m still a huge fan of this! Petroleum and paraben-free (with a short list of recognizable ingredients), the Smooth Sphere is full of Vitamin E, shea butter and jojoba oil, which work to keep your lips smooth and hydrated. And it’s all wrapped up in the most adorable little package.

3. Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer ($5)

lip shimmer

Made of sunflower oil, castor oil and beeswax, this glides on smoothly while peppermint oil provides cooling relief for dry, chapped lips. It’s the perfect combination of lipstick and lip therapy. It comes in eleven different colors and at around just $5 a tube, it’s one of the best beauty bargains out there.

4. Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme ($6)

beesMade with sweet almond oil, beeswax and a good helping of Vitamin E, this isn’t really a “cream,” but more “waxy” in texture. Massage it daily into the cuticle and nail bed, and you’ll see it not only prevents hangnails and softens cuticles, it also strengthens and nourishes nails in the process. This is a must-have for dry winter cuticles — and it smells good enough to eat.

5. Tweezerman Tweezers ($20)

tweezermanI know it’s not the flashiest of gifts, but if you or someone you love is tweezing with anything other than Tweezerman Tweezers, you need to switch. I know it sounds ridiculous to spend $20 for tweezers, but Tweezerman makes a tool that is so precise, it’s worth every penny. Any other tweezer is just an exercise in pain. Tweezerman offers a lifetime guarantee on all their tweezers and they’ll sharpen them for free for life (no processing fees and no shipping and handling on return even!). It’s a great gift because it’s something people don’t usually buy for themselves. If you don’t want to pay $20, you can get the Mini Slant Tweezer for a mere $12.50.

Now it’s your turn. Anyone else have any great beauty-themed gifts fit for a stocking?

  1. I use EOS almost exclusively! It is one of the cheaper-almost organic-and good for you lip balms. Plus I like the mint flavor. 🙂

  2. I LOVE the cuticle butter – it’s amazing! I’ve been using it for YEARS and it really saves my nails during the winter months. When I run out, I opt for a smidgen of olive oil. The smell isn’t as nice but it works!

  3. LOVE the Look Ma, New Hands lotion!! I received it as a stocking stuffer myself!
