If there was ever such thing as a chic vacuum cleaner, the iRobot
A couple of years ago I was invited to a mom blogger summit at the iRobot headquarters outside of Boston, Massachusetts, and we each brought home an iRobot Roomba. I remember handing it to my husband and shrugging and saying, “Well, might as well give it a shot.”
Neither of us expected it to REALLY work, but it actually does a really good job. Granted, it does a better job if you use it regularly, but then again, what vacuum doesn’t? We were surprised and delighted to find that it actually vacuums our floors quite thoroughly.
- Roomba makes multiple passes, just like you would do using a regular vacuum, to ensure that your entire floor is thoroughly clean
- Roomba’s Dirt Detect function senses the dirtier areas and stays in those areas for longer. Typically the area in front of your couch, by the front door, or where your dog or cat sleeps tends to be a little dirtier than an area of your room that no one goes to, so being able to spend more time at those areas is really helpful!
- Roomba’s anti-tangle technology allows Roomba to extract itself from tassels and cord tangles
- Roomba’s light-touch intelligent sensing system can detect when Roomba is approaching a wall or obstacle and automatically slows the robot for a gentler touch and quieter operation
It moves from hardwood to carpeted floors with ease, it somehow knows where it has been and where it still needs to sweep, and when it’s done cleaning or running low on battery power, it sends itself back home to its base to recharge — and all that with just the touch of a button. It’s really quite an ingenious invention.

The only reason why my sister-in-law allows her family to own two dogs is because she has a roomba to vacuum up all the dog hair. I really want one because my dog’s shedding is driving me crazy and I can’t keep up with all the dog fur around the floor.

I have a friend that has had one for awhile and loves it. I have four children and two dogs and can use all of the help I can get around the house.
With a 5 yr old and twin 3 1/2 year olds I need all the help I can get!! It would be amazing to not have to sweep/vacuum the floors
