Modern Bird Studios *GIVEAWAY*

I don’t have art. I take pictures and have great intentions to create art from them, but so far my art mostly resides on my laptop. With three kids and all the chaos and expense that comes with them, I had accepted my fate as doomed to a life of reproduction prints from Home Goods framed in Ikea frames.

Then I discovered Modern Bird Studios and I started dreaming of art. Greg, the genius artist behind Modern Bird, takes your precious photograph and breaks it down into a two to five color image. Then he paints it on wood or acrylic and wood. The result of this process, well, I think they say it best on their website:

The result is a marriage between technology and traditional painting to create a totally hip urban-style art piece that enriches your home.

Enrich your home? Yes, that is exactly what it does. My piece is breathtaking.


It’s only been in my house for a few days, not even properly hung, and already it has stopped many a visitor in their tracks. I loved the photo before. Now I adore it’s painted version.

I have art that is so amazing. It was totally worth the wait.

    umm these are beautiful. The hardest part would be choosing a picture to have made into art. Something relevant to the artwork at Modern Bird studios would be that the art is done on wood so that it lasts longer, and that non-flash photography works best.

    Very reminiscent of Andy Warhol’s pop art work.

    I have already been speaking with the Modern Bird Dynamic Duo about getting a piece done for my Anniversary, but instead of it being a photo of em and my Sweetie, it’s going to be a photo of her and the sick little girl she works with that has changed our lives.

    The use of wood for these paintings is beautiful and long lasting. The fact that the artist signs the paintings and takes such a personal interest and pride in them is a bonus.
