You guys were so helpful last week with the purse thing, that I could use your help again!
Jo-Lynne has commented on her personal site that she’s longing for rain boots, and I think I am as well. (p.s., check out Melissa’s Kamiks – so cute, right?)
But of a higher priority for me? I need a raincoat. And I’m not talking about one that looks like this:

Image via Amazon.com. And believe me, there's a time and a place for this raincoat; but I'm looking for fashion AND function, my friends.
I’m talking about something with color, shape, zest – and a hood! Do you have any idea how difficult it is to find a raincoat with a stinkin’ hood? I didn’t, until I started looking for one. Oh, and another qualification for me: waterproof. Not water resistant. So let’s look for some more options, shall we?
Target has some cute ones. I’ve seen these in-store as well, and I like them a lot.
They’re called “feather weight,” which I guess would be a good thing… but I’d want to make sure I sized up in case I needed to wear a sweater underneath, you know? Good for summer rain, but for spring? Hm. That can get tricky. It’s not exactly balmy here right now!
There’s this one from Macy’s by London Fog. This is the most common style of raincoat I see. And… I don’t know. It just seems so matronly or something? Not that my wardrobe is straight off the runway by ANY stretch of the imagination, but I just don’t think I’d feel good wearing it.

Image from Macys.com. See, even the model is wondering if she made the right choice by putting it on!
Of course, there’s always the North Face Grace – I see this one pop up every year, and it’s tempting. I do love North Face products, so I know I wouldn’t be disappointed with the quality! They’re pricey (around $200) but I’ve worn another North Face coat for the last eight years – so they definitely last.
With this one, though, I’m wondering if I’d have the opposite problem as the Target jacket – would I be too hot?
UGH. See why this is so hard?
This is where you get to help me again! Whether it’s a brand, style, color, link, etc., I’d love to hear about your favorite raincoat in the comments. Thanks for your help!

Oh, my, that person on the right does NOT look like a person. It just can’t be! I say go with something that is fun to look at and feels good. I don’t have a raincoat myself; I just don’t like the fabric. However, I have a bright yellow heavy-weight jacket with a hood that works pretty well. It’s not water-proof, but it does keep the rain off.
If you go with a raincoat without a hood, you can have fun picking out a hat. We saw some great rain hats at the Oakes Expo last November. I think there’s another one coming up in April. Personally, I go without the hat or the hood, and use the umbrella when I can. Most of the time, I don’t care because my hair is wash and go.
That is TALL order, girl! A hood and water PROOF? But how about Land’s End?

Oooh look what I found! How cute is this Orla Kiely raincoat? They’re limited in sizes but maybe you can find them else where too?

Ooo, cute! But yeah, not a size 6. 😉
