It’s somewhat of a tradition in my family to hang Holiday cards on the inside of our front door. I’ve had many friends over the years express the oddity of it, but I sort of enjoy it.
Each day in December, you await the arrival of a card sent from family or friends, and with great excitement, add it to the ever-growing collection; one that can be admired until the end of the season. And, it feels much more special than just throwing the card away – it’s as if the sentiment of the time of year is still appreciated.
That’s what I think I love most about a Holiday card; that even with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and the whole lot – receiving that little card in the mail transports you back in time, and the nostalgia overwhelms you in the best possible way.
I remember taking care to admire each card, but I always loved the cards that had a picture of the family who sent it. It was fun to watch these families change and grow over the years – especially the ones who didn’t live close by. Those precious moments, frozen in time, to catch a glimpse of who they were then.
When my husband and I started our little family, I knew exactly what kind of Christmas card I would be sending – I wanted our moment frozen in time and sent out to be cherished by our loved ones. Through the recommendation of friends and family who were graphic artists, I went to Tiny Prints, a fabulous company who have just the knack for taking a few pictures and making something brilliant of them.
They have announcements for all occasions – births, parties, graduations – but I so look forward to their Holiday selection every year. With so many gorgeous cards to choose from, it’s hard to narrow it down to just one:
I could go on and on {and on and on and on…}.
The process is simple – visit their website, pick your favorite design, upload your photos to personalize it, and then your Holiday card will be on its way to your door, OR they’ll address and mail them for you {is that customer service, or what?}. And be sure to check out the Special Offers page to save some dough.
I can think of no better touch during the Holiday season than a beautifully personalized card, sent the “old fashioned way” to the front door of your loved ones.
