When I shop for my baby girl, I usually try to buy from businesses that meet certain guidelines. So when I discovered ro•sham•bo baby sunglasses, I was impressed, because this business met and exceeded every single one.
Are these products safe for my baby? Check. ro•sham•bo baby sunglasses are specially designed with babies in mind to be durable, flexible (bend but don’t break plastic bounces right back to shape), light, and comfortable. Plus, they’re made with food grade plastic (like teething material), bpa free, and 100% UVA/UVB lens protection.
Are these products beneficial for my baby? Check. Pediatric optometrists warn that most of the lifetime ultraviolet (uv) damage done to a person’s eyes occurs during childhood and the risk for retinal damage from the sun’s rays is greatest in children less than 10 years old. Yikes.
Is this company family-owned? Check. ro•sham•bo baby is owned and operated by husband and wife team Scott and Julia (and Baby Avery!). When I called customer service, Scott answered the phone, and apologized for any delays (there weren’t any, anyways) explaining he still works part-time as a lawyer until he can get this business off the ground!
They started the company after realizing that nobody was making high quality, stylish baby sunglasses while at a San Diego Padres baseball game with a friend’s newborn. Scott put his adult sunglasses on him and lightning struck. Within two years, they had created the world’s best baby sunglasses!
Does the company stand behind the quality of their products? Check. First, these sunglasses are made in Italy with a flexible, shape retaining, soft, and light food-grade plastic. Check out their video of co-founder Scott trying to break them here! But if your frames do break or get damaged in the first year of their use, ro•sham•bo baby offers a full damage replacement guarantee. Wow!
Are these products adorable? Check. My princess only wears the cutest accessories available so it’s a good thing ro•sham•bo baby sunglasses are so cute! I ordered her frames in Kelly Kapowski Pink. And amazingly enough, when we’re outdoors with the sun shining on her face, she does keep them on! (Indoors, they go straight into her mouth.)
Does this company give back to the community? Check. A portion of all ro•sham•bo baby sales support the critical work of the San Diego-based Autism Research Institute, which is a Charity Navigator 4-Star Charity. As Scott and Julia say, if companies can’t make a positive difference in the world, whats the point? I couldn’t agree more.
Oh yeah. They also offer free US shipping. What do you have to lose?
