Lovely Liners

So many of us fall into one of two camps when it comes to eyeliner — either totally terrified or black-all-the-time. I’m in the latter, and have a ton of friends in the former. Because liner makes such a dramatic difference, it can be tough to commit to using it at all, or changing up what you already know works. But this season brings with it so many lovely options; I strongly encourage you to take the gray, bronze, violet, or emerald plunge into something fabulous.

This dual-edged pencil from Estee Lauder is a must-have for every makeup bag. I’m obsessing over the Plum Gray, which is a soft but well-saturated neutral that truly flatters every eye color. Employ just a narrow sweep, go all-out cateye, or line top and bottom. Smudge with the tip on the opposite end. $27, Saks Fifth Avenue.

Somewhere near bronze but rosier, this limited edition color, Cocorange, from Chanel is a total showstopper. Pair this with a neutral shadow and plenty of black mascara. $29, Chanel.

Sephora’s Nano eyeliner is nice and chunky, allowing for a playful or smudgy, sexy look. I adore their olive green, which is fresh and gorgeous for fall. Pair this with a Barbie-pink or even go totally neutral. Either way, you’re in for stunning, come-hither eyes that are day-appropriate and evening-ready. $5, Sephora.
