It’s Kind of Like Living With a Toddler.

tis-the-season

Do you have a toddler? Is he or she anything like mine with the “I want I want I want I WANT!!!” Because, seriously. I WANT.

Allow me to clarify: I don’t NEED a single thing. But it’s fun to dream, right? Here’s a snapshot of some of the cute stuff at the top of my list:

1. A cute, warm hat. I have a few hats, and I love them all! I’m partial to The North Face, and have a couple of their regular beanie-type hats. Warmth is key for me, because my office happens to be a good quarter of a mile away from where I park. Um… BRRR. But I don’t want to be completely unfashionable when the temps drop, so I’m looking at something like this or maybe this. Sorry I can’t post the actual pictures – technical challenges, yo.

A funny sidebar: They also have one called The Hoser Hat. I don’t actually want it, but, you know. I kinda love the name.

2. Boots! I know, they seem to be at the top of all of our lists. (Another sidebar: Take a peek at the styles Jo-Lynne, Michelle and Trina are pining for this year!) But see, here’s the thing. My husband actually offered to buy me a pair of Uggs LAST Christmas, and I could just never decide what style I liked best. Add to that a hefty dose of “OMG they cost HOW much?!” and, well, yeah. I still don’t have any. Wanna help me decide? Here are my top choices so far (but, please, tell me about your favorite style in the comments!).

The Skylar

The Cardy

Thanks again, Nordstrom.com. I love these from a style perspective, but from a cold, wet winter perspective? Eh, not really the best choice.

3. Eau de Pew. I’m running a little low on perfume, so now might be a good time to add it to the wish list, right? Right now, I use Very Irresistible Givency, but I also really like Stella by Stella McCartney. Stella kind of has the edge on this one, because it looks like she’s offering a holiday gift set this year. I never buy the matching shower gel and body lotion, so I have a huge crush on gift sets that allow me to layer up my stink factor.

Plus, she's a McCartney. She gets automatic cool points for that. Image from Sephora.com.

4. Jewelry. I love getting jewelry that has a special meaning or feeling behind it – it’s just different than picking something out at the store, right? Last year, my husband got me the Petite Original Necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs, and I love it. I pretty much love ALL of her jewelry, so narrowing it down to just a few things I like is extremely difficult. But I took a look through her bracelets and came across this beauty:

Well, now. Enough of me yammering on and on about my favorite things! Please, dear Chic Critique friend. Tell us what’s on YOUR wish list this year!

  1. I vote for the Bailey, but girl. You’ve gotta tuck your jeans inside so the cute buttons show!

  2. HAHA, I know, I know!! It’s just not a great look for me – it’s kind of the equivalent of peg-leg jeans when I do. I’m working on it, but… give me time, Jo-Lynne. Give me time. 😉
